SACRAMENTO VALLEY LACROSSE FOUNDATION ESTABLISHED
There is a growing lacrosse community in Northern California and it is up in the Sacramento area. This past year has brought a new lacrosse store, Lacrosse Fanatic, where local lacrosse denizens can buy gear, mingle and collaborate and the establishement of a new lacrosse organization: Sacramento Valley Lacrosse Foundation.
May 21-22 will be the first All-Sac lacrosse jamboree, featuring 7 girls teams, 7 boys teams and 4 junior boys teams. In addition Men's and Women's exhibition games by local players and UC Davis Club teams. June 4th will kick off the first ever Sacramento Summer League... for all ages and all levels of play.
June 18th the City of Sacramento has invited SVLF to the Juneteenth celebration. A celebration for the emancipation proclamation. They are going to showcase lacrosse in a large field area, where local high schools will scrimmage and then hold 30 minute free clinics to teach attendees the basics of lacrosse. Parents from a local high school are working with organizers from the California State Fair held in Sacramento to hold a lacrosse tournament as part of State sport events.
