Lacrosse tournaments take place all over the world. Some of the most important are the World Indoor Lacrosse Tournament, and the European Lacrosse Tournament. The former's two editions both took place in Canada, and was won each occasion by the home team. The runner up in both tourneys was the Iroquois Nation. The next competition will take place in 2011.

The European Lacrosse Championships took place annually from 1995 to 2001, and from then on is held every four years. This change is scheduling was due to the emergence of the World Championship. There is a women's category that has been active in all editions but two. The men's category was only inactive in 1998, when it took a backseat to the World Championship.
